Managing the adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) on the WF-C710N is user-friendly through the accompanying app. You can easily switch between modes: ANC on, Ambient mode, or ANC off. Additionally, you can fine-tune the level of ambient sound to your liking or activate the Voice Passthrough mode, allowing voices to come through while minimizing other background noise.
When it comes to audio performance, the WF-C710N impresses with a vibrant and dynamic sound profile. It’s notably more balanced and detailed than its predecessor, the Sony WF-C510, though it doesn’t quite match the richness of the Sony LinkBuds Fit. The lows and highs are well-defined, but sometimes the mids can feel a bit muddled, especially at higher volumes.
In terms of battery life, the WF-C710N is robust, offering up to 8.5 hours of listening on a single charge with ANC activated, which aligns perfectly with Sony’s claims. Without ANC, playback time stretches to just over 11 hours, making it ideal for an entire workday and beyond.
